b6 hp variance?

b6 hp variance?

just curious, but why does the first gen miata B6 engine make 20+ hp more than the mx-3 B6? i know the manifolds on a transverse engine take away some of it, but what else is so different?<P>dave

Miata's are equipped with the B6ZE while the MX-3 has the B6E. Both are 1597cc but the B6ZE has DOHC while the B6E has SOHC. The DOHC explains this 20 horsepower.
