can someone help?!

Post by roly023 »

i have automatic 94 mx-3 1.6l (i think). my car broke down and i need help. nothing seem wrong and it stalled out. it won't start but it tries to so it can't be the alternator or battery. i think it might be the fuel filter but i don't know where it is on the engine or how to check it. can someone please help.

Look on the fire wall, almost dead in the middle. it's straight behind the manifold. Personally I think it is a b---- to get to.

the only way your fuel filter will stop your car from running is if the hose came off. if your getting fuel(as in the pump still works) then it's probably your distributor. that seems to be a major problem with the mx3. and yes, you have a 1.6 dohc.
Fast imports only come on two wheels.

i'd say its more likely to be a distributor, cause the car should have showed signs of the fuel filter filling up, and its sputtering, i know that the distributor goin bad is a problem on these cars
