what do you mean it doesn't work right?is your engine not getting enough air er what? is the piping going from the maf to the throttle body or is it coming from the maf to a filter?
right now i've got the weapon r ram air kit but i'm gonna get a rowdy 3" intake for an integra/honda as soon as i can find or fabricate a maf bypass.

Its coming from the throttle boddy to the MAF, then i got a adapter wit a cone. See but from the throttle body to the MAF, there's to hoses connecting to the pipe correct?.. i dont know or shall i say how...to install them on the homemade pipe.. or is it better to have the pipe going from the MAF to the cone?

Ok, I got a little "thingy" per Jeff Aycan's advice when I fitted my cone air filter onto my MAF. All you gotta do is drill a hole, and get the "thingy" that hooks into the hose (preferably from the inside so it stays good) and viola......or atleast that's what I would do??? I think the "thingy" was just a little rubber hose adapter.
If that helps, I have done my good deed for the day

Ok, are you talking about the little plastic thingy? because that is my problem. you see ive got a breather on the hose that goes to my valve cover... then there's another hose also right? it's a rubber hose with a plastic bent shaped "L" where do i connect that, or can i have that plugged? or please somebody give me "full detail" on how to make one please!
sorry im slow on stuff like this

Re: Homemade intake for 4cyl SOHC?...help
You guys are talking about three different hoses. The Throttle Body to the airbox(small hose1/8" vac.), the Valve cover to the large breather hose(just a vent about 1/4 or 3/8" without looking at it, and the Intake hose itself(the one you made probably 3"). I have a DOHC but I'm sure it's set up the same. The hardest part should be cutting the 2 holes for the the two secondary hoses the small vacuum hose and the valve cover breather hose. The problem is it sounds like you don't have a place to do that. I think you might be missing a short piece of 3"(maybe 3-4" long) between your filter(whatever your using) and the MAF. on that piece of hose you can cut a small hole and mount a small flange on it to hook up your 1/8" vac. hose. further up towards the throttle body you can cut another hole just a bit bigger to fit your valve cover breather hose onto another flange. that's the way I've done it on other cars in the past to get rid of airbox's and still keep the engine looking clean. don't be drilling any holes in your MAF. reply if I'm not understanding you right...

Hey thanks man for the info. But this is the way i got it set up, i got the long intake hose going to the MAF... then on the valve cover i got a breather on it. So that takes care of 2 hoses right? ok now on the 3rd hose, (which i dont know what it does) comes out with a little plastic "L" shaped hook on the end of it. How can i drill a hole on the tube and hook the plastic part to it? i can connect it cuz it's plastic.. i do i hook it up?

Re: Homemade intake for 4cyl SOHC?...help
the tube going to your throttle body MUST be used for your car to work. i have a "home depot" intake. i got a breather for the valve cover. i integrated the hose from the throttle body into the intake via drilling a hole in the intake and glueing a 90 degree elbow into it. i then hooked op the hose like i normally would on the stock intake. i personally have min in a "cold air intake" configuration(the cone filter is routed to behind my driver's side front blinker, under the headlight.) I also have it in a "ram-air set-up. -by removing the blinker and sliding in my custom tube that connects the air chamber to the front.

Just for your knowledge, the "plastic bent shaped L" (as stated above) is the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) valve and is an important part on your car.
