Rough Idle when warm, CEL on, Sputters/Stalls Sometimes?

Hey all, got a '92 MX-3 off a buddy when my truck was stolen. It was not wanting to start once warmed up and had a visible leak from the water pump. Replaced the pump and all was well for a couple months, now the problem is back and my check engine light has started popping on from time to time.

Did a check and it's giving me these codes:
9 Water Thermo Sensor
17 Feedback System or Closed Loop System – left hand side.

I'm no mechanic.. haha - would these be the thermo sensor I need?

Any ideas what error 17 above might be referring to? Am I right in thinking replacing these sensors is a good place to start?

Not sure what is the sensor you mean.

I know the small temp sensor with 1 wire is for the dashboard.
You can disconnect that one and see if you'll get another code. If not, this is the one you need.

Code 17 is your o2 sensor/lambda sensor. Not sure if it's from the front or rear bank, with the search you should be able to find it.

Thanks for the reply! I doubt this is the dashboard one given that the dashboard reads fine and the car is acting like the choke is permanently on.

Is there some way to bypass the one with two wires that assumedly controls the engine? When the coolant temperature reaches a normal driving temperature does that sensor complete a circuit or break s circuit? I guess I'm asking something like if I connected the two wires going to the sensor would it then run fine when warm, but not want to start when cold or something?
