There is an MX-3 that recently came into the inventory at a local junk yard. Are there any parts or pieces you would recommend pulling? It's a 94. I don't know which engine or transmission.
The only thing I really have on my list is the driver door window switch. Mine ('93) is a little fickle. Are the switches the same between a 93 and 94? I also noticed some noise coming from the front passenger side wheel area this fall. Not sure if is an axle/cv joint/brake.
What to pull?
Re: What to pull?
Pull the disty for sure, 94 disty is hard to come by so buyers will line up to make you rich,,,,but just a little bit.

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Re: What to pull?
if it's a 94 4 cylinder, pull the alternator tensioner bracket that goes from the alternator to water pump. then sell it to me.

Yes by crackie they are Jimmy ma boy, yes they are. Here's a Faq you may be interested in 'just in case'. viewtopic.php?f=44&t=66265Jimbo1177 wrote: Are the switches the same between a 93 and 94?
If that switch is no good but you find a 95+ your still ok using the info in this Faq.

Re: What to pull?
Take the window switch if it's an automatic. Those tend to brake.
Re: What to pull?
YaRRRR, much obliged for the info matey.Daninski wrote:Yes by crackie they are Jimmy ma boy, yes they are. Here's a Faq you may be interested in 'just in case'. viewtopic.php?f=44&t=66265Jimbo1177 wrote: Are the switches the same between a 93 and 94?

So I went a checked it out and it was a small adventure. The inventory said there was an MX-3 in the yard. This yard was organized by imports, domestics, and trucks. So I'm walking past the rows of imports and not seeing an MX-3 anywhere. Finally found it in the very last row. I mostly wanted to get the window switch, so I pulled the door open and what do I find? Manual crank windows. Bummer. Started poking around and guess what I found in the back: a spare door with the window switch. Sweet! I'll post a response in the window switch thread with my experience.
Also, it's a 4 cylinder with an automatic transmission. Their website claims it's a 1994, but I didn't check the VIN to actually confirm. Daninski, you mentioned pulling the 'disty' which I assumed meant distributor. I pulled that off as well. I'll create a FS thread for that guy.
SuperK, I did not pull the tensioner bracket. I wasn't sure what part that was exactly and being December in MN I didn't want to spend a bunch of time pulling the engine apart for the wrong piece. Would you happen to have a picture of the part? Not guaranteeing I'll be able to get it, but I might be making another trip within the next few weeks and could see if its available.
