HEI/MSD box. car wont start need to bypass dist

okay my car was running fine yesterday its been raining i dont know how that effects it i had a few problems to sort out today with the car now down to the real problem

my car wont start assuming because the distributor and i can bypass this with an MSD coil which i have and something called HEI or an MSD box ive seen the msd box in the store

do i need either box to bypass the distributor or can i do it with just the coil?

now if i do need the box or a hei box what would be the correct connection diagram.

another question was is there another distributor that i can put in? its a 4 cyl and its a 1.6L but if there is a more powerful one i can put in and i NEED it for the mod i will get it. or if there if one and i dont need it i wouldnt mind looking into how to tie that into the wiring harness if that was a possibility
