i know there are threads about this, but i cannot find what im looking for.
Just moved the car up to colorado and never had to use the heat before with this car being down in Mex and Southern Az so it wasnt a big issue for me. Anyway.. my heat doesnt work. I hear the fan or motor working, all levels work and change when i go from low, medium, high.. etc. but nothing blows through the vents. The front defroster doesn't work, but my rear defroster works just fine. Was just thinking about taking it in to get looked at, but i have a feeling it might just be something I can fix myself : ) if i know exactly what is wrong with it. Has anyone else had this issue. Ive seen some had rear defroster issues but not the front.

Re: Heater and defroster issues
the rear defroster is just an electric charge that warms up the back window so it has nothing to do with the front. You see those red lines on the rear window. Those get fed electricity and heat up.
Now for the front..... Check your coolant level. Also whens the last time you changed the coolant.
Coolants runs through the engine then heats up and goes to a heater core under the dash. The fan is located behind that heater core and blows the hot air into the cabin.
The ccore could be clogged. Or your coolant is not and the right level or old. i had old coolant in mine. Changed it out and the heater worked like new.
It could also be you engines thermostat as well.
