I hope it's done as well, because I think it would be a very unique accomplishment, and the community could benefit from it greatly.
Not just the idea that we could have a better drivetrain platform, but that so many people are scared to think outside of the box... I don't have a problem with others giving reality checks, but the constant "If it could be done, it would have been done already" mentality is just STUPID.
Sheep like that said KLs would never bolt into MX-3s, and look at the sheep now. They aren't running K8 MX-3s.

Look how easy that swap was? Nobody expects a Duratec, or any other engine/transmission combo for that matter to just drop in like a factory fit... NOBODY. The thought that it might be feasible, given a little research, and a lot of trial and error, is very much realistic.
A few of us have done some very unconventional things to our cars, to great effect!!! I haven't seen any colossal failures in my time on the forums, although a few are mentioned on occasion(RWD 13B MX-3, functional but ugly), I believe there was a rear engine rear drive drag car as well?
It's sad that people did a hack job on those projects, yet still took it farther than far more capable mechanics and engineers, terribly sad... Maybe their work would have been cleaner, or less problematic, if people had supported the project instead of saying "It'll never happen, just give up, it's not bolt-on, so it's impossible."... Hell, I've had to ask a TON of questions, here as well as on other forums, and there were points where I just wanted to give up until somebody helped me out.
I'm glad that I received help when I asked for it, because I'm proud of what I have learned today, and of how far my own projects have come. I hope to give back to this community, as much as I have received... That's why I stick it out, and try to gather information into one place. I don't do it for an excuse to argue, it's not like I even need the internet to do that, I do it because I want this community to move forward as a whole, and actually survive.
What happens in 20 years, when KL engines are impossible to find? What about suspension components? Balljoints, tie-rod ends, axles... Do we just junk our cars and buy something new? At that point, unconventional projects will be deemed worth looking into, and it will be too late.
