KL knock sensor plug is different from k8???

if i cut the plug off of my k8 knock sensor and solder it to the knock sensor on my KLDE will it still work effectivly??? would crimping it work????

i didn't get the male plug end when I got the KLDE and noticed just now with engine in car that the plug heads are different.

so:

1) cut k8 female plug
2)cut KL female plug
3) solder K8 female plug to KL knock sensor
4) plug it into my mx3 wire harness.

this is a v6 swap

only qualm is that when i cut the k8 plug, i noticed insulation, some wire, insulation, and another wire on the inside.

Bolt the K8 knock sensor into the KL block?

Same sensor, why waste your time? I think your looking at a different sensor plug dont forget KL knock sensor wire is routed to the opposite side. Simply remove intake manifold and position plug connection on proper side and reattach intake. Done. Ill take the $$ from the labor time in my paypal for college payments please
