So as some of you know i have moved to california and they have SMOG laws here (wankers). I have also bought a KLZE recently . Once my car gets off the boat from germany im putting it in.... but it has no EGR. Maybe i can mock one up and use the american ECU for smog tests and it will pass but u never know. Maybe it will pass with no EGR and a KL36 ECU. Hey stranger things have happened. If push comes to shove and i cant get it to pass smog who wants to be a pal and let me register it in there home state?? I know it sounds silly but i would have no other choice. The registration fees are of no issue and I dont mind having out of state plates if that means i can drive my beut.......

I can give you some tips on how to pass. I think I detailed it in my worklog. Mine is essentially a ZE, and I passed without even having a cat.

My car passed before I bought it and its a ZE with the EGR bolted and plugged in but not functional. The car was running 95' DE tuning and VAF.
