Thinking about the headliner...

Post by Josh »

Thinking about doing a black headliner in the GS with some plastidiped A and B pillar plastics. What fabrics have you guys gone with? I have seen Microfiber and Suede, any other options out there or examples?

Go with "suede look" material, it's way lighter an cheaper than real suede plus if you buy a 3m spray adhesive it will go right over your old stuff!

I could search all I want but I was looking for input as well :)

I don't shop at Walmart unless its after midnight and I am desperate and need to jimmy rig something. I cannot find any plain black microsuede locally... Not even at the fabric store, they have black zebra... but that's it. Will have to order online.

Yeah I may have found some at a Joans fabric store. Online says they dont cary it but a buddy bought his there. I checked Michael already :(

I don't feel comfortable about buying things like fabric online. It is one of those things I would like to see in person before I buy. Maybe I am just weird.

josh, find an online fabric retailer and ask for a sample set. I would suggest online because you can choose between a lot of different variables, such as thickness, durability, etc.

You can always get a keychain of different sample sets, then you can take them in your car and get the EXACT match you're looking for!

That's where I got the material for mine. I just picked a normal black one. Nothing special and it got the job done... 8)

yeah mine came out really nice i bought some random black lightweight fabric and used a light coat of spray glue...this was 2 years ago and its still holding strong...i used fabric dye for the visors and ring around the sunroof and it looks good i can take pics if need, the hardest part was being careful with the headliner, its SO fragile!
