Will it start with this TunerStudio

Post by WhiteFinish »

Hi Guys,

I got my megasquirt hooked up, but I don't dare to start it before somebody with a bit more knowledge has taken a look at it.

Question:
Will it start with this ?
What should setup in the settings before starting?

Both took from Stoker100's post

My setup is:
- KLZE
- ZE 7 niple disti
- 4 point Hei mod with MSD blaster 2 coil
- 67mm TB
- std injectors 220cc

- other stuff is Nitrous, clutch, flywheel etc
Just another Mx3 freak :)

From the little I know of tuning(written only one from scratch), those maps are quite safe.

O2 is only active over 1300 because of how the cams operate at idle, the reading will be nowhere near correct. The incoming wash is actually partially sucked through the exhaust before the exhaust valve closes, which gives a false reading.

It should still read, but it will ignore it.

Where did you get your values for the VE and spark tables? Are they moderately correct for your setup?

S-D tunes have no capability to compensate for changes in hardware, so every tune is different. They can still be close, though.

Make sure to model your injectors properly (dead time, size, fuel press, impedance) otherwise the lambda control will be off the wall, and totally wrong.

Make sure your air intake temp sensor is calibrated correctly, because S-D tunes rely heavily on air temp.

Make sure you have inputted a correct value for the cam/crank sensor input offset, so it knows accurately where TDC is.

There should be a general engine settings page, I've never used tuner studio, but you need to tell it number of cylinders, rpm limits, displacement, idle setting, etc etc etc. If you don't know what it is, leave it as default, and then find out.

What does S-D stand for ?

The tune in my pictures are from another KL engine on PT.

Injectors, cilinders are okey.

I don't know if I have to calibrate the intake temp sensor ?
As well as the crank sensor for TDC.
Both are just hooked up.

I don't know it works exactly with tuner studio, but most engine sensors are 5v sensors, and they have a range they respond to, but in some sensors, 2.5v may be the middle, but in others, it might be 3.2 or something, so you have to tell it what the voltage curve is.

S-D is speed-density. using MAP as load versus RPM.
