New Member, not new to MX-3.com
Just wanted to give a quick shout out to all the members of this forum...I've been using this page since 2004 and never got around to becoming a member. I am a proud owner of 3 MX-3's. All GS 5 speeds, all '94 and I’ve been working on one extensively. The car began as an automatic. I did a 5 speed conversions and 2 engines later I decided to go with a JDM. I live in Huntsville Ont. and went to school for tool making in Windsor. I work for the largest Canadian Performance Exhaust Manufacturer and I’d be happy to give back to this community who taught me almost everything I know about these cars. In later posts I will try and begin to explain my current mods in more detail.

White one on the left is the first of 3...my real project. The green is my driver, and the purple I bought for my gf in the spring.
The last one was right after I dropped the new motor in last summer...It hasn't been on the road this summer at all. I've got tokico's, eibachs, moog mounts, 304 stainless headers, long neck cold air, all going on as we speak...

At the time of the swap, this was my daily driver and I was working on a small budget...I was still in college. I needed the car on the road and as much as the 200HP was tempting, I was really just trying to make it run like it was new again. My goal is to build a reliable clean car, inside out...The body is good...the motor is fresh and I'm not just looking for a fast car that can't handle. I like the twisties and hate body roll so I just picked up all my new suspension parts. Everyone wants to turbo these but it is not an easy thing to do without knowing what you are getting into. No harness on front of engine, where's the wires? Oh and add fluid your power steering is low.

LOL...that was hours befor the first turn key...lots left to do in that pic. It's in more pieces than that right now. I was just posting some pictures I have on my computer at work. Good lookin out

BTW, pics are a tad big. Side-scrollling is a pain. (i thought the UBB auto-resized?)
A KL is very reliable, probably a bit more than a K8, but in a budget, it's totally understandable. I will say, as been-there-done-that, just a basic ZE swapped mx-3 is ALOT of fun, and with the power, it is better on gas (from my experience). But add better suspension and good brakes, and it's a totally different car in so many better ways. My logic is, why do things twice, but sometimes, you gotta do with what life gives you.
Everyone DOES want to turbo a K8, but in the end, most don't. It's more costly and less reliable than a ZE swap. However, you can just turbo the K8 until it blows than swap in the KL (most do DE) after.
I don't have Megasquirt in...yet. I have it on hand, I just want a running car before i start to install it.

were you driving southbound on hwy 11 the other day around 745am? in the bracebridge/gravenhurst area..i passed an mx3 that looks like the blue one you have pictured,

No...sadly it is in need of a front spring...brittle stock ones grrrr. otherwise it is in awesome shape...best $300 I ever spent!
