Thanks!

At this rate, it's a possibility. I'm so undecided on color, it's not even funny... I've gone from blues to greens to black to white w/ stripes, Idk what I'll ever actually pick.

Actually... I could Plasti Dip a few different sections in different colors, to see which I like. :freak:

It'd look ghetto for a while, but I could get a real feel for which I like best.

You can buy Red. With your car already red that could be an option. Might be kind of cool.

I want to move away from Red so badly... I like it, but it just draws too much attention to the car. Police attention.

That's why I like the darker blues, greens, and grays... They are subtler, without being bland, you know?

Last week's problem: Shredded Alternator + A/C belt
Image

The cause: Harmonic Balancer lost it's insulator. This is a replace only part. Don't weld it, or Ryan will slap you.

Same thing, detailed:

The solution is buying a new one, or used. If you buy used, wiggle the crap out of it to make sure it doesn't have the same problem. This has been a slight issue for my car since the day I bought it, although I couldn't find the answer until now. I didn't shred any belts, but my Alternator has been undercharging my battery, but ONLY while driving. The problem was non-existent at idle, as the pulley wasn't turning quickly... I thought I was going crazy, but now I know better.

This month is routine maintenance and repair month. Next month will be stainless valves, double valvesprings, clevite 77 bearings, and some other things I'll share later. :welder:

I may get some work done on the exhaust, depending on my access to a welder. I need to practice up, it's been a few years since I've so much as touched one. I'll be testing it completely free flowing first. No muffler, no resonator, no silencers. It keeps things simple, and lets me focus on routing it properly. I'm going out of my way to avoid sharp bends, I want to scrape every bit of power I can, everywhere I can.
I may need to go with a fuel cell to truly make it happen. I'd prefer to keep the stock tank, I hate buying gas every week.

I had never looked (so I don't know) but who makes a double valve spring setup for us? Any seat machining required?

I'm currently cleaning up my new '94 center console. It's soaking in the tub with some dishsoap at the moment. :freak: There is very light scuffing in 2 small areas, I'll take a picture after I finish cleaning it up, and showcase the differences between it and the '92 style for those who don't already know. :)

This post will be edited when I get the bracket cleaned up, and buy a torx bit for my drill.

I swapped my new front struts onto the car today, but I'm still waiting on a Harmonic Balancer!!! Damn, I haven't driven an MX-3 in a week. :( I could completely drain my battery, taking her for a spin, but somehow that seems more trouble than it's worth.

Anyways, I actually took PICTURES of the swap today! Go me, huh? I'll upload them when I get back from a busy night. Once in a while I put on my shiny shoes and take my lady out for some fun. I actually took quite a few pictures this time.

Harmonic balancer is back in place, belts are tensioned properly and squeal free. Now I need to drive it around for a few days, and do a final adjustment of the belts. Managed to get a socket stuck when torquing the balancer down. -.-

I'll take her for the first drive in weeks in 10 minutes. Go me?

Stuck socket? put in extension, twist by hand in the loosey direction, pull as much as you can with the friction you make, and then tap socket with hammer.

didn't you use a 21? The bigger the bolt, the harder it is to do that.

I beat a 6" extension horribly attempting to free it. It's going to be a cut to remove deal unfortunately. First thing I tried was tapping it, twisting it, and prying with a small prybar. Nothing will budge the little B***ard.
