Millenia Master brake cylinder

I have a straight neck and in order to install that intake manifold at all I had to modify an MX-6 booster to receive the MX-3 GS master cylinder.

You will definitely not be able to do this with the stock MX-3 booster and a straight neck IM.

With the GS booster (black thing I assume) it's fine for me. Don't hit anything.




But should I do something to prevent any rubbers from drying or isn't it necessary?

If you are worried about it put it in a zip-lock baggy, that should prevent the rubber from drying out.

I was pretty sure the booster had to be a sealed unit?

I would go to the local parts store and grab new lines, borrow a bending tool and replumb them underneath the the M/C. You might be able to rebend the existing hard lines...but that would be dicey.

My parts store has a few options for both. You can get the really cheap ones all the way up to the ceramic ones for $125ish.

uhm your planning on fitting rx7 calipers or are already using them? ive never herd of this upgrade before i wonder how much work is involved? probably a tun im guessing...

fyi this mod sounds cool, when are you planning on attempting this josh? do you think this would give similar brake feel to newer cars? ive always found the mx3 brakes to be "squishy" even when properly bled.

Do you have a picture of that set up without the rotor? I want to see the mounting points.

Unfortunately I don't. It probably requires permanent modification to the knuckle.

I do not believe so. I was looking into that one recently as the 98' Millenia uses the same style master as the GS the only other Mazda car I could find that did, but uses a 1" bore vs the GS 15/16". the problem is that the milly has a rod depth of 1.05" and the GS has a rod depth of .663 so I would assume that you would need the rod from the Milly to do the swap. ALSO the milly has the ports on left and right sides where the GS has them Right front and right rear.

The easier swap is going to be to the 94' 929 master that is a 1" bore and has both ports on the right, but this one may entail using a different booster. I have yet to confirm that or not.

The caliper does not need the knuckle modified, you make a bracket to go from the pre-existing mounts to that of the caliper. Some people have had the tabs on the caliper itself cut off and relocated to mount up as they are aluminum and easier to weld than cast iron.

The caliper in the picture looks like a genuine Mazdaspeed caliper.
