ginja117 1991_AZ3 B5 turbo project

Post by ginja117 »

Have just received my GTX turbo and manifold (BP-T) and im waiting on my BP-T injectors, fuel rail, and have also ordered a F/M IC that will fit with my stock bumper without any major modifications to the Bumper support or bumper.
My plan is to run the new injectors and fuel pump first while the engine is N/A for about 1000ks before I put in the turbo and continue ordering all the parts i need in the meantime.

My parts list so far-

Exedy MZK-6316HDB Clutch
HKS Super SQV III BOV
BP-T stock VJ20 Turbo
BP-T stock Fuel rail + injectors
Walbro 255LPH Fuel Pump
Mishimoto Z-Line Universal intercooler
INNOVATE MTX-L: Wideband Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge

Does anyone have any suggestions for engine management???

Just some Pics of my B5 engine and the VJ20

where the hell did you find a harness? It's been a few years that my F/IC has been installed but there was nothing useful when I was looking into boomslang.

Ginga117, I bought the AEM from ebay US from the seller
called mbzalan after they accepted my offer of 320 dollars.

RS_OBD'oh_2, boomslang harnesses are very popular over here on the
boosted miata scene, so I emailed them about 6 months ago to see
if they could make an MX-3 harness and they said yes no problem
as long as i sent them the schematics

Ok so ive just completed my gauge colour change to red, i used the stock bulbs and put red covers on all of the bulbs. I am quite happy with the result so i decided to change all of the dash light-ups to red as well. Just some advice to anybody out there that is going to make a change with the instrument colours be VERY careful with the gauge needles as i accidentally bent my RPM needle and now it doesn't work properly and gets stuck frequently.
Will post some pics as soon as i get back from work

OK, I have bought a B6t exhaust manifold, vf10/vj20 hybrid turbo, some black altezza tail-lights and i am waiting for my new 17" rims. I have also installed my new HID Bi-Xenon headlights. The improvement over stock is amazing, my only question is, when i switch the lights to high-beam they dont seem to stetch out like my old halogen lights. They just angle towards the center of the road but dont spread out and cover as much distance as the halogens. Has anybody else had this problem???

Nice! you definitely picked a good turbo!! It might be a little laggy on the B6, but should be a kick in the pants. cant wait to see it on there.

it is usually recommended that you do atleast run a piggback ECU.
