It runs ok warm, but when it's cold I have to rev it to keep it going.
I start it and it stalls - never did this before.
Anybody have any ideas on what the problem could be?
I just spent $800 fixing the clutch so I want to keep it going if possible.
I appreciate your input.
regards

Re: Engine slows and stall when cold
when my mx3 was automatic it would stall if i started the car then put it right into drive without letting the car warm up. if i waited for the temp. needle to be at least above the cold line in would work normally.

Thanks for the help, Solo.
I taped what I could with 'Gorilla Tape' - supergood sticky tape.
I couldn't get right underneath it but got as much as I could.
Here's a link to pics showing a disconnected vacuum tube Solo pointed out and where it connects.

I just had a thought - whatever the problem is, it could be related to the clutch assembly replacement job.
It was fine before the job and appeared immediately after.
I'll report back as soon as it cools down and I try restarting it.
Thanks again for the help.

Bingo!
I owe you a beer, Solo.
It starts up and runs just fine when cold after taping the intake hose.
Thanks for the help.
edit:
actually it's still happening.
it seemed ok for a couple starts then began happening again.
i'll try taping it some more but it's tough getting it underneath the hose - no room.

Re: Engine slows and stall when cold
Nope.
It's getting worse.
Now it stalls when warm.
Guess I'll take it to the shop.
Oh well - thanks for trying.
