Playstation Hacked! Cancel your Visa/change passwords

Post by Daninski »

Ok, as most of you know the Sony Network was hacked with 77 million accounts suspected to be compromised. I called Visa and they advised cancelling my card and they're issuing me a new one. Any place where you've used the same password go NOW and change your password. Never let any company keep your Charge Card number on file. Some do but if you read the fine print you can opt out. e.g. I order lots from RockAuto and Amazon.com and I have to enter my Visa every time I order.

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

They said this morning on the news that users accounts had been accessed so just to be safe I cancelled my Visa after talking to and on the advise of Visa. Fighting back is fine but at what point do we or don't we condone illegal activity. Do the ends always justify the means? Al Qaeda seems to think so. ????

I agree sonys so called "updates" and improvements have taken a system that slaughtered Xbox to the same as Xbox, good for the Hackers To them I say, Spread the Attack, Not to User accounts, but all the Sony Branches.

We've put up with enough bulls--- from Sony, and their Originally Offered Product Was a whole lot different than the Current One, and Their Right, Not even linux can read the PS3 Partition, it was no safety risk.

As For the Fact it is Illegal, well they already broke the law, so Make it Bigger.. Put sony out of buisness if you must, show them that you can't just shove the public around, sorry But Move to PC gaming if you don't wanna pay for xbox, Maybe its more expensive but most users spent $500 on a PS3 and $300 more on a Replacement for Yellow light, I can build a computer that will last way longer and be cheaper in the long run for the same price. THe only real point of a console is portability next to a Real Gaming Machine.

NOw don't trust everything they say, as a Comptia A+ holder, I've learned how much of garbage computers actually are, change your passwords, ANd don't use the same one everywhere,

Worklog for the KLZE
First Car, And My baby... $550 To buy and repair from Write-off... The radio and amp that was in it was worth more than that!!!.

I still smirk a little when people give me the "PS3 > Xbox" crap. PSN going down was the icing on the cake I think. I'd laugh if it happened to Xbox live too... I play on live a fair bit, but if it went down it wouldn't be the end of the world for me :D I'd just work out a bit more, sail my boats, or maybe even find a 4th job...
