jerwil, hopefully Ill get this project going

Post by jerwil »

Alright, Im ready to get my 95 RS project started. I want to play with the MX simply because its not a Civic. Nothing against Civics, but everyone builds 'em. I wanted something different. Ive got the direction I want to take for the body figured out. Its the engine that im indecisive with. Ive got a stock B6D now (minus the AC, PS, and a cheap cone filter) Im leaning toward a BP swap, but Im having a tough time tracking one down in the junkyards around town. But I like roaming the junkyards, so I don't consider it wasted time.

I went ahead and cut the grille, or whatever its considered, out of the bottom of the bumper when I installed the GS lip. Oh and I painted the tops of the headlights while I had it all apart. Also popped the badges off. I love it when people have no idea what I drive :)

Have access to a cheap set of these Racing Hart 17s. Not sure how they would look on my car though. However, they have to look better than the 14s I have on it now.

Just going to toss a pic of the engine and interior in there too!

Just curious, has anyone swapped for an older dash? Im not a big fan of my style dash. Just an idea, not something Ive looked real deep into.

Thanks for checking out my work in progress!
Hopefully Ill have much more to come!

there's been some people who've swapped dashes but i think they were mostly the other way, old to new, anyways, it can be done but it takes a bit or work because of the rebar and stuff.
at least that's what i can remember off the top of my head, if you search up dash swap or something in our forums you should be able to find the post

I much prefer my 93's dash. I've had a 95' and a 94' and I think that the older dash is just a better fit for the interior lines of the car. I'm one of the very few who think that.

Black is a great color to have. I think the black cars look the coolest. Good luck with your project.
94' RS/GS/MS/CF Monster Turbo...coming soon.
93' GS SE, the Black Beast, the former love of my life...soon to be gutted and crushed.
94' GS, black on black, now in several small pieces...and one large crushed piece.
2007 Mazda3 GT Sport --- super fun
2004 Honda RC51 --- Lost forever to some theavin' bastard

Had a 91 240sx a couple years back that I painted the valve cover on with wrinkle black paint. It turned out pretty good. Actually, it was probably the nicest thing about the car. When its not so freakin hot outside (95 degrees), I want to do the same to B6D valve cover.

The earlier style dash is much easier to find locally. Ive checked for a set of rear mud guards, but cant find any. Junkyard nearby just got a Mx-3 in recently. Ill check it out, and see what I can snatch! And.......I'm still waiting for the guy to give me a price for that set of 17s.
