How do you make the engine bay look clean?

Post by Juans_93_MX3 »

I have seen some pictures around here where it looks like people get rid of the vacuum hoses and stuff, and make they're engine bays look clean.

Is it just un-plugging every hose and maybe putting something to stop the suction?
Might doing so affect performance or emissions?

You definately can't just unplug and plug s--- willy nilly, that will not work.

You have to buy new hoses, and route them in the exact same pattern, just in a better location.

Most CLEAN bays run standalone EMS, so they don't have much if any stock wiring or vacuum left, the motor runs on just a handful of sensors, not the stock myriad.

Ryan is of course correct. A SAFMS would definitely clean things up but then at what price. Why has no one ever tried clear hoses or should I now face palm myself.

Most clear hoses are for non heat applications,,,like beer and wine making, paint suction, etc :D You'd have to find clear hosing that can withstand a little heat.

A good trick to keep hoses looking nice and clean is to clean them :P

No seriously then take some tire foam and spray it all over the hoses and
black plastic, the best part is you just let it evaporate off and it makes
everything look purdy and new again.
