Seriousily debating on going from VVV

Image

To painting the car flat\matte black THEN peeling the vinyls off??
Think itll look decent with glossy red vinyls and flat paint?
only reason im debating hard is the paint is MINT minus the plastic bumpers of course..

p.s. rims are back to steelies due to f'ing up my struts, mounts, rear sway, and most important clutch.... :(

but yeah any comments? i know mooneggs gotta have something to say lol.

No, it'd look hideous I think. If it's mint bar the bumpers just get those resprayed red, and take the vinyls off anyway.

Also, damn I want a hatch garnish.... :crying:

Fail.

Don't be a cheapskate. Plus your car will never be the same if you do that.

Get your bumpers repainted and then your good to go. You won't regret anything If you do it right.

Would have to agree. Unless you really like the flat look, it is your car. If the paints mint it's a no brainer to me - fix the bumpers and have a mint car, that's hard to beat.

if you want flat black that bad why dont you try vinyl wrapping the car? wouldnt cost that much, itd give you better results then painting it yourself and you can take it off later if you change your mind.

Vinyl wrapping should be left to the pros!
it costs around 900GBP to get it done properly

not really, vinyl wrapping is all about effort and patience. youll only get bad results if you rush it and give up getting out wrinkles and air pockets. heres a guide a guy made while doing his car for the first time with quite amazing results. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=376442 its also quite cheap, i can get enough vinyl to do my car twice for $200 locally.

i also have some co-workers that recently started vinyl wrapping cars, its by no means an easy job but you can get good results with half a brain and taking your time. they started with a friends cobalt and it looks amazing. if you have a friend to help im sure you could do a mx3 in 2 or 3 nice summer days with a few cases of beer.

??? you mean vinyl wrapping my car? i did think about it quite a bit but the ammount of chips and dings/small dents id have to fix itd probably be just as easy/cheaper to give the car a roll on paint job.

im also thinking of trying to find a better shape mx3 shell, the ammount of air leaking into the cabin/ sqeaking and creaking my car makes it doesnt really seem worthwhile to throw more money then i have into it. im pretty kean on the idea of grabbing your shell/motor and fixing it up while im at school. you still gotta pm me a rough price of how much youd want for the two  my new job should give me enough money for a small project while at school.
