1994 MX3 1.6 DOHC Idle setup issues

Hey all,

I removed and cleaned up my Throttle Body (as per the guide on the forum here) and put it back on, reset the butterfly and then reset the TPS using meter and gauges. Here is my problem now.

I jumper 10 and GND and check timing, its bang on, i then adjust the IAA while still jumpered to get baseline idle set, however, when unscrewing the IAA the idle slowly increases but then stops at about 500 RPM. I can unscrew the IAA all the way and the idle will not increase beyond 500 RMP. Is this normal or what??

This is all done cold and with 10 and GND jumpered.

any ideas??

Not that it should make a difference to your particular problem, but these adjustments should be made with the engine at operating temps, not cold.
