New addition to the Mazda family

Post by Ukrman »

So a couple weeks ago I got 2004 Mazda RX-8 Grand Touring. The car is in MINT condition, 22K miles, paint in perfect condition and interior looks like no one ever used it. Here's a couple pictures, and it looks much better in person :)

I never realized how much different it drives then the MX-3. After driving the RX-8 for about 2 weeks, I had hard time driving the MX-3, was reving the engine too much. Its alot of fun to drive

Nice! I just drove an RX-8 for the first time this Monday, they're pretty quick once you get the RPMs up there.

Love those cars. I've been wanting one for a long time now and actually went to look at one this past weekend (wasn't happy with it unfortunately)

All I ever hear about them is their problems and how much maintenance they are. One owner I know keeps telling me that to change anything requires like 10x the amount of disassembly just to get to it.

Actually i've heard the opposite. However I'm not surprised, it's the side-effect of a smaller motor where the manufacturer wants to place it as back and as low as possible for the best handling characteristics as possible. It's even more "burried" than in the FD. A rotary is a pesky little thing, but that is indeed what I want...

Btw my friend with an RX-8 just blew the engine on it! It had 85,000kms. It's still under warranty but we have to put the stock components back on (he's got coilovers, hks exhaust, solid adjustable endlinks, etc.) so we'll be doing that this weekend

Thats nice car. I just don't like all the electronic crap they bundle on new cars. Too many things that will break in future.
