LOL hounestly I've kind of given up on this club... everytime I come out we have MAYBE 5 MX-3's... I'll still come to mx-3 meets if they are planned and I know its worth while, otherwise I'm just going to go to my local tuner meets. The one club I'm in up here is pretty much all Mazda's anyways...

HAHA dude you made the meet, said you were attending, and then didn't go? That's exactly why this club is falling apart. As sad as it is to say this but I'm with Brad - kind of giving up on the whole MX-3 scene because nothing ever happens. Also all the veterans are getting rid of their MX-3s so that doesn't leave much. Don't get me wrong I love these cars and will keep doing my own thing solo and still go to meets if anything comes up. Maybe I'll start going up to Quebec for the good meetsMX3-4U2NV wrote:I was working, no idea here.

But if all else fails Joe and I can keep doing our LCBO meets

Re: Ontario Meet - September 18th, 2010
F you dude... Can I freaking help it if I was in bed with uncrontrollable shivers and sick as phuk on Wednesday? Then when the opportunity arrises that I can make back some of the hours I lost being off and sick, I take it? Sh!t happens man. Even with working Saturday, I still didn't get my 40 hours for the week. Yes I intended on being at this meet, why else would I make the post? But sorry, my priorities don't go Car, family house. My priorities are Family, House, Car. Therefore, as I have been in the past, if there is an opportunity to do more work, I do. The car isn't going to pay my bills. Especially if I have a day off being sick. I'm not on salary, so every hour counts._-Night-Shade-_ wrote:HAHA dude you made the meet, said you were attending, and then didn't go? I'm pretty sure most ppl in my case would have worked as well. Especially those who DON'T live with their parents... Those of us with families of our own, or mortgages/rents to pay...
I haven't given up on the car scene by any means? I have been in to the car scene for the last 14 years when a lot of those in the car scene now were still sucking on their mom's teet.
For three years I did Sunday's at 403/Dundas, Monday's in Woodbridge, Tuesday's at 403/Dundas, and Thursday at Kennedy Common's. Never missed a week. Myself and 6 others even went to our meet at 403/Dundas on Christmas Night, December 25, 2007. I even attended meets where there was just two of us. That's how dedicated I was.
Now, I have a family, house (regardless of renting or owning, still have bills to pay), and other important obligations such as work. I also look at it this way; every bit of over time, is extra money I can spend on my car. Without taking on extra work, I wouldn't get anything done to my car that I want.
I think too many people are negative about the meet situation because more people b!tch and complain about it, rather than be thankful/grateful for what we do have. Sure it would be wicked awesome to have meets with 10 cars minimum all the time, but we drive around in cars around 16 years old. Times change. That doesn't mean we can't appreicate what we do get. Two people show up to a meet... Awesome. Ten people show up... FANTASTIC. But no, people/humans would rather dwell on the negative of a situation instead of being thankful for who does show up.
I posted about an amazing cruise I wanted to do with everyone here, and got maybe one person interested. Frig, I am friends with many other clubs, even the Toronto Hyundai Club. Posted my tour there, got crap loads of responses.
The real problem isn't the lack of attendance, it's our attitudes towards the whole situation.
Anyways, I got married on August 23rd, 2010. I'm at work right now, exceedingly bored, hense the novel of a response. And pointless ending.

Woah, who took the jelly out of your donut.
Sorry dude but you're still relatively new to the MX-3 scene so you don't really have anything to compare to, but there were some good meets back in the day. Even I wasn't around in the good days when there would be ~30 cars per meet. But even with the 12 that we had a year and a half ago, it sucks to have it drop to 4 or 5 per meet. I'm extremely disappointed we had less MX-3s at Kingston then we did at that meet in Toronto.

Re: Ontario Meet - September 18th, 2010
Nothing to compare it to? A car meet is a car meet. I have been to thousands by now. I am quite aware of what a car meet entails and have plenty to compare our meets to past meets I have attended. So I don't know what you mean by that.
Regardless of the fact I have only had my own MX-3 a year ago last week, that still doesn't exclude me from knowing a thing or two about meets and attendances.
And truth be told, you somewhat took the jelly out of my donut. Sometimes your responses are a little abrasive. You can catch more fly with honey than vinegar.
I'm just saying, that dollars-to-donuts, if we had a more positive outlook rather than a negative one even before a meet happens, I bet the attendance would rise. But, when a meet gets mentioned here, usually within the first ten posts about the meet, there is someone bashing it saying something like "I wonder how many people won't come to this one?" or something to likes of that. Reading that right off the bat is discouraging. Can't deny that.

Re: Ontario Meet - September 18th, 2010
Well dont get me wrong, I enjoy the MX-3 meets alot. I love coming out and seeing what other people are doing to their MX-3's and maybe getting some idea's for my own car. The lack of attendance does bother me, especially considering I usually have to drive almost an hour each way. I think the MX-3 meets might be better if we just have them once in a while, that way people actually do appreciate the 5 people that come out. But I find if I just go to other meets, like KC or HWY 7 which have a ton of cars every time I go and actually see another MX-3 there its awesome!
