Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulators and their benifits???
Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulators and their benifits???
I haven't bought one yet but I'm considering ordering one. Has anyone bought from them? I've heard good things about this company. Price looks good and by dialing back the pressure it's easier to pass a Clean Air test. http://www.cosmoracing.com/productinfo. ... 40&added=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
As far as benifits go I've been told if we dial them back to around 20psi it's much easier to pass the Clean Air test. Comments

Re: Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulators and their benifits??
I have no idea what the eco test is like... good ol' Alberta does not do this.
The major players in the AFPR world would be SARD and AEROMOTIVE. To me, that unit looks too much like the OBX, megan and the other generic units on ebay selling for $20. I went with the NRG regulator for my turbo setup. It's based off the SARD unit and is around the $150 range. I had major issues looking for the fuel rail adaptor. NRG was the cheapest yet again. Check out imageinmotion being a Canadian, they make all my shipping problems go away.
I would also imagine that dialing the pressure back would lean your mixture, do this slow and while using your OBDII display... avoid throttle while the pressure is low... your cpu may adjust either way for mixture variances.

Re: Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulators and their benifits??
do we really need to spend 150+ on an FPR? cause shouldn't something that just regulates the flow of liquid (fuel) be a simple thing?
i ask this because that's basically what my friend tells me and i don't know what to think, cause i also think that an FPR should be something simple thing.

Re: Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulators and their benifits??
cheaping out on a AFPR is a bad idea.. esp' on a boosted engine. If the knockoffs use a crap diaphram it could fail... it fails you can lean out. Under boost a lack of fuel means a new engine. On the Supra forums there was a guy that cheaped out and went with an obx unit. It failed and resulted in massive detonation. He needed a new engine.

Re: Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulators and their benifits??
what's the cheapest/best unit?
cause i need one for my BPT but i'm stupid and haven't gotten around to getting one yet.
i'm in a tight spot for money and don't want something that'll fail so i'm willing to put in the extra little bit but can't spend like 200 for one

Re: Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulators and their benifits??
Lord sufferin Jesus, I just put the link in this post to show you the best and least expensive unit.
I just wanted to know if anyone else had ordered this unit. I asked why the MX6 2.5 and the MX3 k8 had different listings and the guy said it had to do with where things are mounted so I'm not sure which to order but they both look the same anyways. Now to decide which colour. Guess matching up with the CAI colour is the best way to go.

gauge and rail fitting extra. Mi|<e and I are both using this one. I have plenty of faith in it.

Re: Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulators and their benifits??
Kinda need the link you putz but hey thanks for the thought John.
So now for the gauge, fluid filled I'm thinking to dampen any vibration or pulsing. Now where to buy?

Re: Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulators and their benifits??
That AFPR looks boss (Dan tries to start a new popular word expression), but it doesn't come with a gauge so you'd need to add one I'm thinking?RS_OBD'oh_2 wrote:http://www.imageinmotion.com/NRG01-FRG-100BC.htm
