Improper Muffler?!?!?! WHAT?????

So I got pulled over for having an improper muffler on my car... come on seriously???? That is a retarded ticket and I will deffinatly be fighting it. I just had to share with all of you how stupid these Barrie cops are. She said my muffler is too big therefore it is too loud, therefore it is improper. Apparently the Bi-Law says that you can only put an aftermarket muffler on if it is the same size as the stock muffler. So I asked her if my car wasnt so loud would you have pulled me over, and she said you still have the wrong muffler, doesnt even matter how loud. Awesome. Now I have to rip my magnaflow off...

Check the wording of the By-law and see just what it says. Sometimes these things written so poorly that a Judge will suspend sentence. What p*sses me off is that motorcycles seem to have immunity and are annoyingly loud.

For sure it's a bulls--- ticket. Take it to court man, it'll get thrown out. I'm pretty sure your muffler isn't a "hollywood" muffler (straight through) so it's fine. There is no law stating your car has to be below a certain dB. F***ing pigs.

Next time, don't tell the cop ANYTHING! I don't knnow about there, but here, if the cop doesn't show up, they'll probably throw the ticket out, especially something like that. Maybe you can weld an OEM looking tip onto it, for the future.
It is F-ing stupid that motorcycles can have open, unmuffled exhausts, so loud that I want to punch them right off their $40,000 weekend warrior bikes, and piss on their "club" vests. I grew up with real bikers, and although I don't condone them, pretending to be one is even worse, somehow, like everyone trying to be gangsta.

yea if anyone here is a dedicated south park fan, you will know what i mean when i call bikers "fags"... ANYWAYS... yea you see all these harleys just rippin on it making tons of noise and they dont seem to have any issue. Jesse, I kind of realized i shouldnt have told her i was taking it to court, ah well... i plan on getting it dropped to at least a warning.. if not completely dropped. because really, she said the ticket was because the muffler is too big, she didnt say because it was too loud.

Aren't the actual physical measurements of the OEM muffler larger then the Magnaflow?

Ya bring in a stock muffler and yours with measurments of the exhaust pipe openings. My stock muffler had two openings and if measured their total area it would be very close to the Magnaflow I had on my 96 if not the same total area. (PS. Only do this if the areas are almost the same, no need to self incriminate lol )

That's the provincial law. He said by-law, so that's a local law that has been imposed
