KEYS...KEYS...KEYS

Post by fairyangel »

Does anyone know where I could get a set of keys for my 93 Mx-3? We bought the car at the dealer and it didn't come with the original key. Where could I find a set of keys that would contain the orginal which could open/lock doors and the glove compartment because the key we have right now cannot lock glove compartment. Let me know or e-mail me about any suggestion. Thanks

Basiclly keys are same! Go to key smith store and ask him to make dublicates of the spare keys from blank mazda keys. The spare key have, how to say, in the end there is ward that differs from original key. Sorry for my english! So I made picture!
Image
[ March 03, 2002: Message edited by: Martins ]

Mazda dealer's have the older style keys still, you can just buy one from them for like $6-8 and then you'll have a key that looks just like an original one. That's what I did when my original key was getting dangerous close to cracking apart.

Hey! Thanks guys. Wow, a Mazda dealer huh? That means I have to travel outta town to get that key then. But I know it will be worth it if I could still drive my Mx-3 with it huh?? :) Thanks again guys!

If you can't lock the glove compartment, you have what is known as the "Chauffeur's key" which is the secondary spare. The primary locks the glove compartment. Yup, need to go to a dealership!
