Swap: GS spoiler to OEM wraparound

Post by MrMazda92 »

Hey guys, I searched but that only confused me. Sorry if I missed something...

What will it take to remove my GS spoiler and put on the wraparound? I'm assuming it has the same pattern of holes, and likely the same size of bolts. What size might that be, I'd rather like to avoid carting half my tools to the wrecker for this job. I think a pocketful would be a little simpler.

Thanks again!

I believe they're 10mm nuts. (I don't really remember). Under the caps on mine were some self tapping phillips screws, I don't know what it's supposed to have as my wing wasn't original to the hatch it was on.

I say a small assortment of small sockets, and a flathead and phillips screwdriver should do the trick. (to be safe)

I just installed mine again... yes bring everything savin suggested and you should be good... bring a 10 mm socket, an extension and a ratchet and a phillips and flat head screwdriver

I brought all my sockets to the wrecker, carried everything from 9mm to 15mm in, as well as screwdrivers. Turns out it was 9mm, and the screws were phillips, but the plastic the spoiler was mounted to snapped off under light pressure. Turns out the bottom of the spoiler had some damage... then the sales people wanted $100 for it(in that condition), I had to pass.
