Sorry to read that, tripleMX-3chicMS. It's great that you had the will, and went for it, AND had fun, even though it didn't work out!
I saw an ad for an SE on Craigslist, and drove a little way (not as far as you!), only to find out that everything that made it an SE was TRASHED. And the kid didn't disclose that it was in a bad front end wreck, and was leaking all kinds of stuff. I wanted to slap him, but he was barely of age. I gave him some serious advice, instead.

I remember checking out a 700 dollar SE locally back when I was still looking for a better replacement MX-3. Needless to say it was beyond the point of repair, lol...

I wasnt happy at all.... im still not. But i had a great time with my girl friends and our road trip.
I told the guy..."please dont tell me its a keeper if it its not....
im a single Mom driving to another state"
I knew it didnt look great but either did my white GS and look at it now.
It was the motor i was worried about.
It didnt have high miles... so i was ok with paying that amount for an
SE that needed some body & paint work.
Everyone at home is now saying "you should have looked at pics."
I DID LOOK AT PICS.... Pics can't tell me the motor has a cracked block for gosh sakes....
(as u can see.... im still ticked off) If i was told it had over heated, or the crack near the oil cap.....
i would have passed on taking the drive. I had found two and wanted to go check out
the one i thought would be best for me...... i passed up the orange one in GA because
it had a motor swap like you guys do, but it had been street raced to death.
Anyway.... Im ok with it (i guess) Im just a little bitter now. I might change gears and get a 300ZX.
I just can't stop caling on EVERY MX-3 i find for sale within 500 miles of my house.
I find a bunch in FL and CA. Im not going that far. I went to AZ to buy my catering truck.
Im NOT doing that again. That is a long drive in an automobile you don't know yet.

buying long distance is a risk...there's no way around it. I think it's awwesome that you tried. I also think it's great if you can look at it as a fun day trip with the potential for a nice car that just didn't pan out.

When I bought my SE I had to fly to Vancouver and drive 12 hours home. If I had gotten there and the car had been a bust I would likely have gone to jail for murder.

LOL.... go to jail.... no no no.... not over a car.

I didnt get to take all the cool pics i wanted (remember their dog knocked me over camera and all.)
I got one pic of the car with my camera before it took its tumble and i got some pics on my phone.

The phone pics might be kind of low res but i will find my cord and load them onto my laptop
and check them out and see if any good ones to post here. Might be one or two of us girls.

No... not that orange one. I had not seen that one yet. I would pass that up anyway.
It looks to much like a younger persons car. The orange one i was talking about is darker
like a burnt orange and still has a stock look.
