Need help please!

Post by KyleW »

I'm not really sure what section this belongs in but I'm in the process of installing a distributor on my mazda mx3. We just put the new one back into the hole and it only goes in the the O-ring. I've searched for about 3 hours total and I cant find a guide on it! Could anybody please link me to a guide on a 1993 Mazda Mx-3 v6 1.8L distributor change? Thanks alot!

Its not really rocket science.

Make sure your new disty has its O-ring on, lube it up with engine oil.

Take the cap off, put it in the motor the correct orientation, when it goes no further, turn the rotor by hand until it feels like it will go further in, and give it a bit of a shove. If it doesn't go, turn the rotor another 180º because it feels like it can go in two ways, but it only goes in one way.

bolt it in, plug everything in, tada.
