Turn signals and harzard help

Post by hgallegos915 »

I need help,

After a snow fall, my turn signals are stuck, what I mean is when I activate them is they dont blick, its just on. If i click the hazards , same. I replaced the relay, replaced the switch. What other relays are there that control this? I know its somethign to do with the front because i was moving the air filter around and then they bstarted to blink, but real slow.

Now worse case scenario(since my car has alot of gremlins)

Can I wire some turn signals manually ? do they even sell stand alone systems? In my case, its easier than rewiring the whole car just for the signals.. a nyone got diagrams?

i have a 92 gs

Sounds like there's a short somewhere.

You know how the flasher unit will blink faster with less load on the circuit (like when a bulb burns out)? Well, I'm not exactly sure how the flasher chip works, but if there's a short to ground (essentially a very LARGE load on the circuit) it could have the opposite effect and make the flasher unit not blink at all?

A good way to test for a short is to check continuity from the turn signal power wire to the chassis (ground). Then at least you'll know if there's a short or not.

If there is a short, I'd say check the plugs on the signal bulbs. Maybe there could be some ice buildup on there creating the short? You've probably already messed with the plugs though, so it's just a thought...
