Big confusion with ZE

Post by msd-supermx3 »

Hello guys.

I have bits of issues with my ZE as after it got cold....
For a while now I been driving around and the car was perfect.... but now....

I have codes 2, 4, 12.
Code 2 is the crank shaft sensor right? The one on the left side of the motor By the dipstick???

Code 4 a had troubles with my whole life.... It's in the dizzy i know that, but i have the HEI mod, and i removed the coil from the dizzy.... I changed the module in the dizzy about 4 times for the last 5 months... Any ideas why this happens????
Short??? or is it ok to drive with it....

Now the idle sits at bout 550 - 650 and it died on me today, but now runs ok.... any ideas would help alot

Thx... Serge

If it's been below freezing and your crank sensor acts up it could be bad and freezing from moisture ingress.

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

IIRC the 92-94 has two sensors which the 92-94 ECU needs/wants. One sensor shows 6 pulses per revolution and the other 1 per revolution, sounds like your ECU wants both. Therefore there may be a mismatch with your ECU and disty years. /shotinthedark

I only know this because megasquirt with dual trigger requires it :)
