5-spd shifter kinks forwards or backwards?

Can anybody with a 5-spd Mx-3 let me know if the shifter (stock or aftermarket) kinks towards the front or the back of the car? There's a kink in the middle of them, and I put it so that the top half of the shifter is kinked towards the back of the car.

Hopefully that makes sense.

You mean the shifter itself when you look at it under the boot? I'll check sometime tonight and post; i'm a bit lazy at the moment . I know it's kinked one way or the other.

Hey it's not completely straight, but yea there's almost no kink. Sure I can't rest my hand on it when it's in 5th, but who needs to do that anyway? Oh well, at least I can adjust the shifter throw, it's worth it.
