So, I'm actually on my #2 mx-3. Both of which were SOHC. But my last one was too short lived to really do much too (also the previous owner had torn the s--- out of her).

I've had this one for over a year, and cash has been pretty short while I've had her. Recently I blew the crap out of the headgasket, and the b6 is toast. Found a BP (91 protege LX) for $200 on craigslist, and will have it this weekend come hell or highwater.
I've already started pulling the old engine apart in preparation for the swap, called the junkyards for the ECU, schucks for the timing belt and I know I can do this myself, but I think another mazda geek in the yard might be nice.

So, I'm pretty much begging for a new friend (possibly with an engine hoist) to come help me (or loan me their hoist for a week) get my car back into shape.


The swap is done now, and I did a worklog.
