I am just about to buy a 1997 MX3 1.8 V6 done 109.000 miles off a mate in mint condition besides the colour going a bit pink but with some polish should look mint once again.

Got a few questions if you could help me

Just really want to knwo what sort of problems these cars have and what i should expect for this one i am about to buy done 109.000

I'm assuming you're not from North America, cuz they were discontinued here in '95- '96.

Sounds like a great buy though.

Take some good pokes at the frame rails under the car with a screwdriver to check for rot.

Have a good look at the rear quarter-panel wheel wells above the tires for rust. (Very common because of the laminated sheets of metal)

Do some knocking on the rocker panels for rot through that has been "repaired" with body-filler and paint.

Other than that, the V6 distributors are problematic, but a read-through of the V6 FAQ will solve that issue.

Go for it if the price is right.
