Show me your custom tail-lights :)

Post by v6powered »

This thread is for sharing pictures and ideas and for customing your tail lights.

I want to customize my tail lights, in Germany we have orange direction indicators, so i decided to paint them red, its a good contrast on white i think.
The color is candy red, and has been done by my painter.

Here are some pictures of my tail lights:

and because i am so proud of my new paint  , here is a pic of the front :)

All mine are tinted out, I got a set of oem tails that I'm going to smooth down and do some kind of red treatment to them. But my mind keeps changing haha! I also want to get a set of the black altezzas, remove the lens (permanently), and paint the housing blaze red to match the car.

And to whomever can find where the LEDs are flushed in on my frame, gets a major high five!!

I don't have more pics of them, I'm currently in the process of touching them up since Im a bad painter.

Moons, I got the idea form you a while back. I asked about it in your worklog :) I used black altezzas, they give it a slightly darker look than if you were painting over chrome.

About ½ way down is a pic of mine.

I altered "Altezza"s to look this way. I think they're the best thing you can do for tail lights. I'll get better pics one day.
By the way, I also have the blueish reverse lights, and had LEDs for the rest, but they don't show up as well, since they shine directly up. I would like to alter the housings so that I can screw LEDs into the back, so they shine directly out.

awesome I completely forgot... yeah I'm not sure which I like better chrome vs black painted all red. The key is putting a good clear coat over the top... but I think eventually it will fade regardless :x

Here's a bad faded one:

I think this is when I first coated them (man these pics are old!!) it looks like I had just coated the OEM lights too:
