F1 Racing Stage 1 Clutch Set

Post by muttpower »

I just figured I'd post this to warn a few others about the cheap-o F1 Racing Clutches for sale on Ebay. Yeah, I know, I should have known better, but I figured I would give em a shot. As far as the clutch goes, the pressure plate and disc were fine from what I could tell. Unfortunately, within less than a year, the supplied pilot bearing wore out???Go figure!!! Now I could just replace the pilot bearing for next to nothing and leave the rest of the clutch intact, but I'm not about to wait around for the next component to take a crap on me, so I'm just sticking with a brand that I know performs well, EXEDY.

Just curious, has anyone else bought one of these F1 clutches. If so, I would like to hear other peoples experiances with em.

Heh, ya, there's a few threads saying that they suck, while others say they've been good so far. I think it's only a matter of time, or maybe it's luck.

Personally, if a clutch is only available on eBay and not through your regular channels, than you know it's sh-t cause that's the only way they could sell them.

I think they're way too hit-and-miss of a clutch to validate getting one. What you have to spend to re-replace it and get another clutch, one could of gotten a much better quality clutch from a reputable manufacturer.

Actually, they're not just sold on ebay. You can find em here as well: gripforce.com

But they still suck in my opinion!!!

I guess I'll just chock these up with the "bilge pump" electric turbos and the ebay "+30 Hp and +45 MPG" chips...and no, I've never been retarded enough to try these, just the clutch. I figured I'd give em a shot. I at least thought they would be comparable to the OEM kit, but I guess I was wrong. :crying:
