Possible to swap out the rear hatch window?

Post by Infinity »

I'm looking at buying a mx3 and placing the hatch window with my tinted hatch window from my previous mx3. is this possible to just swap the glass?

You run the risk of breaking the glass for sure. Can't you swap the entire unit?

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Sure, it's possible, but you're safer/easier bet is to swap the entire hatch as a whole, unless there's some other reason not to, such as bad rust holes, etc...

Haggle the guy down a hundred bucks further, then use the money you saved to tint the other one. It's always better to have a spare hatch window anyway...

it can be done, no different than replacing a windsheild..except remember your windshield has that thin layer of plastic in between the glass to keep it together when it shatters, your hatch does not.

It's not exactly the same.. There is a plastic piece that is a little hard to cut through in the top. I also recommend replacing the whole hatch, even if you have to repaint it.
