Be careful when sending cams!

Post by fowljesse »

I got a set of ZE cams, and just looked them over quickly when I got them. I loked at them individually today, and one of them is broken :(
I know Marcdh got some that were screwed up, too, due to shipping.. if you send or buy some, be sure to wrap the very well! Use cardboard between them, or something.

I just read it again, and wanted to clarify; There's a little lip next to the last bearing surface on the opposite side of the gears that broke... They didn't break in half, or anything likr that. I think it can be welded.
I donno

I guess I got lucky. I sent a set of ZE cams to Europe, and they made it safely.

That's the most annoying scam. You pay a company to move an item from one place to another. You then have to pay them extra to insure the item incase they cannot do their job properly. You then have to carefully inspect the item before signing your money away, in the event they have failed to do their job. If you do sign for it, as you are told to do (they do not make you aware of the implications nor offer you to sign unchecked), you void all their obligations to have not thrown your item down a lorry. TNT have destroyed for me: 2 metal bonnets, 1 CF bonnet, damaged 2 bumpers. Thankfully with the CF bonnet I was there to sign for it as unchecked.

at least with fedex, you can sign your name away. Upon inspection you can make a damage claim, they pick it up from your location, inspect it, then return x amount of money, however much the damage was worth.

I looked them over (not that thoroughly), but the chip is not very noticeable. I checkad all the bearing surfaces, and lobes.
