Halo Projector Headlights--Size problem..

Post by alex »

Hi everyone!
Iam Alex from Greece and i own my Mx-3 almost 4 years now.
I recently bought the headlights but i had a problem with the size of them..
As a matter of speaking..

Image

As u can see there is a huge space between headlight and fender/bumper....
I manage to solve the problem with 1cm fat robber that i bought from a shop nearby..
In the end it look like this..

Image

To be honest i like it better that way.
What i cant understand is why did they make them that way?
There is no reason to be smaller than normal size.
Does anyone have the same size problem??

I beleive they are the option racing lights? Your bumper looks like the arch mounting screws have failed which would account for some gap. Though it looks like it'd still be a bit gappy even it was perfectly aligned to the fender. They are missing the C section that sit on the fender, which Rays lights do have. I think Colin noted that with his.

Great job with the rubber though :2thumbsup:

Tnx my friend!! :D :D

The truth is that the car before i bought it had a bad crash and maybe thats why they dont fit exactly..
Still the old headlights was fitting perfect..
The C section is missing because i remove them so i can put the robber.

The Spyder olnly designed the other ones?
With the three leds in a row? :?: :?: (horizontally?)
The material of those ones is very good and generally they are almost perfect.
The problems i had was the size witch have been sold and the angel eye that is not too bright
but is very easy to solve it..
U just change the lamp with a led and its ok!
Does anyone know if the spyder have the same size prob?

There is no size problem with these style lights... Mine fit perfect with no gaps at all I got them from the same place. It has to do with your accident.

Yes. The other lights are Spyder. They fit perfectly, and the Halos are bright. There were no fitment issues, and the rubber fit perfectly, too.
Check out my writeup on the Spyder lights. There are good pictures.

+1 to alex's problem. granted, my front bumper is in bad shape, but structurally there's no damage at all. fenders, radiator, etc are all untouched. i fitted my new bumper and already i can see this is going to be a problem. it's exactly like his pictures show. too much room on the sides between light and fender and also at the bottom, between light and bumper.

I was looking at this again, and it's definitely too small. It's not because of an accident, or anything else. There's just too much room around the light. Since the original one fit perfectly, that further shows that the new ones weren't made right.
The bright side is.. More cool air in your engine bay

I should be receiving a set of these lights in a week or so since I was impatient with the group buy on the other lights and went ahead and ordered these set. Will let you guys know if I run into any fitment issues and post some pictures to inform the others.
