Follow your Gut Instinct. Our family doctor is an idiot. My toddler daughter was sick for months and he continually didn't seem to do anything to identify the problem or help her. She had a 104 temp one nite after we gave her Tylinol so we took her to Emerg. A Doctor did a very simply test (urine) and found out she had an infection. We'd been going through this for months and like I said I told my Wife our Physician was incompetent and we then chose to go to Emergency from then on. Now he's being charged for incompetence, well d-uh was I the only one who figured that out early on. That Prick has hurt a lot of people and should be castrated sloooowly.

Doctors should have to pass some kind of test once every five years.

Edit Update. This is ironic. Just got a call from my (now) Ex, she's on her way home from work. I didn't know this but she went back to the now accussed Dotor and he gave her pain drugs for her back. The drug has warnings not to be taken with certain other drugs one of which he also perscribed her. Now she's not only going through withdrawl symtoms but she's been having serious reaction because of it. I'm filing a complaint with the Ontario College of Nurses and Physicians.

I was just reminiscing and reading through my worklog, remembering all the things I've done since I bought my MX-3, when I came across a rant that I'd posted which I completely forgot about:
The KLZE swap is under way... It's fun so far. I can't wait to get to the hard part. :)

On another note... sorry to get political, but is anyone else really depressed about the state of laws in our respective countries? I want to tinker with my car, improve its performance (both power output and emissions) and learn about complicated systems such as fuel injection and emissions control. But the state is hellbent on standing in my way.

It used to be the churches threatening to kill/excommunicate the scientists for being heretics... now lawyers and politicians have taken on the same role. Who knows how many new Einsteins have passed us by due to the convoluted legal issues involved in doing any kind of homebrew science these days..

For the record: I've been driving daily for over 10 years without a single moving violation.. no speeding tickets, no failure to observe traffic signals... no failing to yield right of way. Maybe 3-4 parking tickets, in total. One accident for which I was found not-at-fault (I was on a highway between two concrete barriers when someone else lost control and hit me). I maintain my vehicles with love and care, operate them responsibly, and try my best to follow all the rules. Yet I just have this bad feeling that I'm going to be targetted by some profiling operation at some point, and they're going to tell me something ridiculous like "your catalytic converter isn't stock."

And no amount of "I've had my vehicle tested and I meet or exceed all of the emissions requirements" will dissuade them. The bureaucracy has spoken.

Sorry for the rant. I'm just feeling down. :(
Thought it might be appropriate for this thread... Does anyone else feel the same?

I... I.... I want to hurt developers at my company.... I get asked the same question by 20 of them because they don't read the very nice document that i gave them explaining everything. Then the idiots come back and say something about the colors, "I don't like that shade of red" Reply, GOOD FOR YOU, ITS NOT YOUR DESIGN IDIOT, if you read the doc, you'd know its the clients colors, Please come back to me when you have a brain and a degree in design.

Heh.. well, I'm on the opposite side of things, but I try to stay on top of it. I'm a *nix admin, so I receive builds from our dev/QA teams that I have to spec, deploy, and maintain. More often than not, the docs are unintelligible, incomplete, or incorrect. It's so frustrating.

And then there's tickets. I'll get a ticket like:

ttid 17399
Run script
Description: run the script from the meeting last week

GRrrrrrrr. I've got a catalog of literally hundreds of scripts, and I'm at meetings with different people/groups every day. Is it that much work to spend 30 seconds writing up a useful ticket? :(

So....

My buddy is looking at Preludes. I'm okay with that, I won't let him rice it.

Found one, it was posted everywhere being sold by a lady from Whitehorse, Yukon (Northwest Canada, for the ignorant. Its touching Alaska.)

It was an immaculate 1997. The nice red, the nice interior, a nice starter stereo, H22, 5 speed. $3000. Way low for these cars, people love selling for 6-10k. Not sure why hey sell them that high... She was selling because she was moving and needed it gone ASAP. Anyway, we figued even if they were bogusing the ad, we could swap it for cheaper than the 10 grand riced out ones available around here.

Got talking to her, and she seemed nice. Was going to do the transaction via the Ebay vehicle... whatever, some section of Ebay. I figured that had to be safe, right?

So we were planning on sending the money via some transfer service (MoneyGram?) To an agent in the UK *little red flag, but I figure its part of the service*. Thats how their service works apparently.

After the Ebay request/transfer set up/instructions thing, she sends a short email saying her previous e-mail wasn't working so she made a new one. *Insert RED FLAG here*

I was feeling pretty good about it though, but I was thinking along lines like "she never stated the obvious" as in she never straight out said it ran fine... etc. So I went looking for the ad again.

Ads are gone. red flag

Pictures are still up on photobucket, locate the one with the VIN in it. Google it.

Scam! total scam. several other people had nearly copy and paste transactions. Different excuses.

I told her because she was a scammer I'm backing out. Thanks for nothing, bye.

We were SO CLOSE to falling for it. Thank goodness for that uneasy feeling....

So, be careful out there... there are jerks-a-plenty.

Now I'm just relieved we dodged the bullet, and I have one more experince to tuck under my belt and watch out for next time.

Another example of "If it's too good to be true, it probably is."

The address the "ebay" emails came from was ebay @ motors-security.com

NOT ebay. If I had looked just a little closer, HUGE MOTHER FRIGGEN RED BLAZING BLOODY RED FLAG DRIPPING WITH RED FOOD COLOURING AND OTHER RED STUFF LIKE JAM AND JELLY AND GLOWING BRIGHT RED WITH CRAZY 1 ZILLION CANDLE POWER CRAZY RED BULBS

I sold my first mx3 RS on ebay after i got my ZE car running. It sold w/ buy it now after 12 hours...i couldn't believe it. The guy said he wanted to ship it to europe to use in a play, and that a broker would be sending me lots of money to help him ship it, etc. I got a really weird check in the mail and was told to take the money for the car and give the rest of the money to a broker or something after I cashed the check. HUGE SCAM. I ripped up the check and reported the person to BBB, but he was gone by that point.

Gots to be careful, least you didn't lose the money! I DID purchase my GS off ebay, but it clearly not a scam because I talked to the guy on the phone multiple times, and had his address. (verified through google).

This lady was a "verified Ebay user" with some silly ranking system...

from a non-ebay address :confused2:

Your scam was a different type, but just as irritating...

Makes me a bit angry, but I'm also a bit... smug that I caught it :P
