New Member- New Car

Post by Infinit GQ »

Hey all,
New to the forums from Vancouver, British Columbia, just purchased my very first 96' Mazda MX-3 GS v6 5spd (204K),
All black, tinted windows, beautiful car!
unfortunately i found these forums as about a week after my purchase my car would not start.
However, I got a good idea of whats wrong with it now and it is in the process of being fixed.
I can't wait to get it running again so i can worry about customizing.

Well, Cheers all!
look forward to chatting.

Haha, It's good to know I've started out on the right foot here.

Thanks for the welcome!

Now before I start I should let you know that I know almost zero about mechanics,
but I really want to learn.

Well the car ran perfectly for a week after I bought it, and then one day I went to start it to go to work and the engine would turn but it wouldn't engage.
So far, I think its just the cap and rotor, rotor wasn't even close to hitting the ignitors and i was getting absolutely new spark. The spark plugs look fine. SO I'm hoping that's the only problem, I ordered the parts and should be getting it installed today, I also need a new muffler as the one that came on the car has now officially fallen off lol, but I knew that before I bought it so it's no big problem. Wanted to get a new magnaflow for it anyways.:D Also I believe the car has auto locks but they just aren't hooked up.

Any suggestions for which muffler fits the best?

I'll try and get pics today!

Magnaflow is great, and sounds great. It's a slightly tight fit, but no problems. I just took mine off, only because I completely redid my exhaust with a side exit, and put a Flowmaster where the cat went.
So, was your rotor worn down, or off time?

I believe the rotor was just worn down, hopefully it'll be up and running by the end of the weekend! Can't wait to drive it again :D
