My New Doorpanels! (And seats I did last year)

Post by onlytrueromeo »

Heres a picture of my newly installed passenger door panel. Will be installing the drivers side tomorrow. They are far from perfect but look alot better than the redish plaid pattern that was stock. Hopefully sometime in the future I can get a new set of panels and pay someone to make them perfect, rather than hacking away at the panel and expoxying it all back together!

There will be a Polk Momo where the speaker space is, as you can see the tweeter I installed up top, along with some chrome Miata handles I got from SuperK

Let me know what you think!

Thanks man...they were in no way easy to work with. Every shop I brought them to refused to put the leather on them, so I did it myself. I cut out the inserts, put on the leather, and glued it back together.

There are def. alot of spots where you can easily tell from the front, but ive been working on patching these spots w/ paint and some sort of filler.

Thanks! I can't wait to get the rest of the interior put back together in the next few weeks. I have a suedecloth headliner and new carpet thats going in, along with the leather seats I did last year that match the doorpanels and rear quater panels.

Ya I've got a few pics of my seats. I bought the material a year ago and did the seats then, but got lazy and didnt do the doorpanels. The blue is alot darker in person, looks similar to a civic SI blue. It goes really well with the black IMO.

I did the seats myself, and I didn't add any filler foam. I'm going to get someone up here to redo them for me so they look better sometime next semester. The rear seats look the best because they weren't worn at all when I redid them. I should start a worklog LOL I've done ALOT to my 2 cars, though I only have 1 now, these seats are from the 1st one. Pics will be up soon!

Here are the rest of the pictures. The one with the other doorpanel shows the color a bit better. The background is baby blue (its a cheap apartment!) and the doorpanel is clearly darker.

Nah I didn't sew them myself. I only touched up a couple parts hidden under the seats. I got them made that way from a leather interior place online. I liked the style of them, and new they would be different so thats why I went with them! I wanted something flashy enough but not TOO flashy. I was going to go with a slightly different style and just black, but I liked the idea of having an insert. Seats weren't too hard to recover. It's katzkin leather too.

Glad you all like! Can't wait to get the car back together. It's stripped down with no interior at all right now, including no radio or carpet!
