mx-3 transmission problems... HELP!!!!
mx-3 transmission problems... HELP!!!!
My friend has 2 mx-3s... He has a 1994 daily driver and a 92 parts car both manual transmissions... Ok heres the deal... Both are having the same problem... Both start up and run just fine, goes in all gears fine, but when you go to let off the clutch pedal, you will start hearing a clunkering noise and they try to move but fail to... so we first checked the cv's and they are perfectly fine... so we decided to check the clutch out, well it was worn down but nothing was broken, so its not the clutch. throw out bearing and flywheel are fine... so we then decided it must have something to do with the transmission itself... we did notice fluid build up in the clutch housing... we have taken it completely apart and NOTHING seems to be wrong!!! The parts car drove fine until he raced me in my nissan 240sx, i guess he wanted another try to beat me, dumped the clutch and CLUNK!!! His daily driver just happened when he was driving it normally...ANY IDEAS ON WHAT IT POSSIBLY COULD BE?!?!?!?! I mean both cars have the same problem so there has to be other people with the same problem right??? WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!!!!!!!!

You took the tranny apart and didnt find something wrong? Something must be broken if theres clunking/pieces rattling around in there. If theres strange noises coming from the tranny I'd say you broke something, if the noise sounds like the clutch trying to engage but its not engaging, check your pedal adjustment, but from the sounds of it seems like you need a new tranny.
