Drone noise, and not from the exhaust

Post by OutlaW »

Another cry for help ...
My car has been making a strange noise:
When my car goes slowly, i guess about 15 or 20 mph , i hear a strange drone noise
If it came from the exhaust, it would be the famous drone exhaust ... but this noise comes from my front left wheel :(
and only when i move slowly ...
what is that ?

Could be a driveshaft or bearing that's a bit out of whack and causing a sort of resonating noise based on the speed, as you go faster it could become so high pitched that you can't hear it. Does it increase in pitch as you go faster?

I've had that same sound with my old mx.. The problem with it was the CV bearings on my left side also. As you go faster, you can barely hear it. only when you start out. Id take a look under that area and see you see torn cv boot/ grease all over.

thanks guys .. a couple of weeks ago, a mechanic that lifted the car told me that the left CV boot was ripped.
I have bought a new one, but i still have it on the box.
I was starting to believe that it could be something else... in that case i am going to find someone to put it fast .
thanks
