Re: Photoshop fer me?
WOW! ... Just looked it up. That amazing. The difference between the rustoleum stuff to the brightside paint is crazy. That black is SHINY!
This will be perfect and it's gonna be something I can do without having my bro inlaw to hold my hand. Ok, So, he done this with a roller? what kind? I'll go to a local marine shop and see if they got this stuff or something like this, but I doubt they do. where else could I go?
I'm gonna have to touch some places on the body where I have a few dents. one of them are right on the edge of the top of the door frame. oh yeah, another question.
When my bro inlaw had his car painted... He done all the bodywork himself.. all the molding the body kit in and all looked good. on the side of his car where he put bondo and sanded it, after it was painted you could see the outline of it alittle even though it was completly smooth. it also was just a shade color difference from the rest of the car. if you got up close you could tell it, if you were away from it, you couldnt see it.

Look for a "West Marine" in your area. If there isn't one, find boating stores, and ask if they have it. I'm in the U.S., and the place wasn't far from me. They also have fiberglass stuff. It's a great place. West marine will have everything you need. If you're really into it, Look up "$50 paint job Moparts". I put up a picture of my 33' RV I painted silver with rollers on that thread. It's an epic novel, though. It took me about 10 hours to read, and it's STILL going!
Bondo will absorb paint, and turn out as you described. Any surface change should be primered, but Brightside will act as it's own primer.
That Miata was done a way that I came up with; He used a brush to put it on without thinning it, and then a really good brush to smooth it out. I am going to paint my car soon this way, and do a detailed worklog about it. It does take technique. But the good thing is that mistakes can be sanded down. Brightside is made to have a very shiny gloss.
