Carbon Fiber Repairable?

Just received my CF bonnet from TNT who as usual trashed one of the corners, despite the immensely thorough packaging. I signed for it as unchecked so will be persuing comp.

One corner of the CF about 1.5 cm deep into the bonnet has frayed apart due to be chucked repeatedly. I'd imagine it will require some fresh resin and relacquering.



Anyone any advice about how repairable this would be? I assume there's special resin for CF use? It's really fiberglass with CF on top thinking about it. If it can't be repaired to an aesthetic CF standard I guess I'll fix it up with resin and paint it

Go to a hobby shop that sell R/C airplanes

Ask for "Thin CA"

It's a super thin viscosity super glue. I mean super thin. Thinner than pure alcohol.

You will be able to get it to wick into all the fissures. Just be aware that it will harden FAST. So be generous once you get it going. If it hardens into lumps in areas. Just wetsand it level with cut and polish afterwards. It will cure clear in the micro cracks.
