Locked Wheel Problem

Hi,

I have 93 mx-3. I took trouble about the inginition switch. I put the key in the switch, but it didn't rotate. Therefore, I ripped the part which is assembled behind the ignition switch, and run the engine by rotating the screw inside the the part without the key. After that I drove the car for a while, and suddenly the wheel got locked. Now I can't unlock the wheel, because I didn't use the key to run the engine. What should i do now? Anyone help?

I dunno about our cars, but in my sister's truck theres an "engine" fuse, and if you pull it, you can't turn off the engine with the key, and the wheel never locks

Go to scrap yard and pick up new ignition assembly. Make sure you have a key for it, or know how to replace just the cylinder.

On my Mx-3 and our old '90 626, if you parked with the wheel cranked to the side, sometimes you need to wiggle the steering wheel to get the key to turn.

Thats right! my Mx does it sometimes,as well as my mothers 02 Sentra.

It was funny, the first time I had that happen I was in College driving the 626, I couldn't get it turned over. I sat there stuck for several minutes, than a friend tried, figured that out. After having that figured out, probably several months, even maybe a year later, my dad went to take the 626 (note they bought it before I even had my beginners) and it did it for him. He comes back in the house all pissed off like I broke it. Told him what is was, didn't say much after that, lol.
