Flow Malfunction...?
Flow Malfunction...?
My check engine light came on, got the code and it says "Flow Malfunction"...does anyone know what the prob might be...PLUS when i press the clutch and the RPM drops, it drops so low that its on the verge of stalling, then after a couple secs it goes back to normal?????
Re: Flow Malfunction...?
It would help to know some basic info like the year and/or type of engine (SOHC, DOHC etc)....MaaX wrote:My check engine light came on, got the code and it says "Flow Malfunction"...does anyone know what the prob might be...
Also post up the exact code number -
This is usually due to a blocked up IAC valve and/or improperly set TPS - for more info search for "reset TPS" and "IAC cleaning"MaaX wrote: when i press the clutch and the RPM drops, it drops so low that its on the verge of stalling, then after a couple secs it goes back to normal?????
Other causes are weak alternator, corroded ground points, weak battery etc - especially if the RPMs vary when you press the brake pedal.

Re: Flow Malfunction...?
sorry i should have put that in.... its the 4 Litre that comes in the 1996 Precidia and the code is P0400.
Re: Flow Malfunction...?
Here's a page i found for P0400
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Getting_code_ ... a_1997_MX6" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It basically says clean out the EGR valve and the piping......
Start reading up the EGR section on the online manual (starts on page F1-130)
AFAIK there is know 4 Litre engine that came stock with the mx3 - you probably meant 1.6 L 4 cyl mx3?
