The Harassment Begins: E.R.A.S.E. Starts Today

Heard it on the radio today, but even on CityTV at 11pm they said they were looking for street racer and modified cars. So anyone with a done up car, please don't give them any ammo, drive safe and have a good long weekend.

I just saw a news story (on CityTV I think)

The cops had a guy pulled over and were inspecting his engine, and saying that he had circumvented the emissions devices on his car. Anyway - I'm pretty sure it was an MX3 that was getting busted. Blue one.
They took the guys plates. Poor bugger. I wonder how they caught him?

Also in that segment, they talked about how people are avoiding emissions tests by registering their Home address outside of Toronto where they have no emissions requirements. Then the day after, they move the car back to their regular address. I assume they can see your address change on their computer when they run your plate, so maybe they inspect everyone who has done the switchy.

All of Ontario has the same Emissions requirement. Keep your E test record with you. I took a Reactive muffler off my car because it had a big diameter outflow pipe and installed a more stock looking Magnaflow muffler. No sense attracting undue attention is there. OPP in Trenton haven't given me a second look. In this business is really dosen't pay to advertise I say.

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

See I don't know how ppl get the attention they don't want... I have not been touched by a cop this whole season and look at my car. I drive like an average person not like a ricer, and don't have an unatrative or useless fart cannon on my car! I live in one of the worst areas for deuchbag cops (durham) and I have pulled up next to them at lights and they do absolutlly nothing! It's simple act like an adult and they have no reason to pull you!

Maybe I got the wrong idea but... I've went all my days going by what this one guy said to me (he knows his s---).
He said the following...

"The trick is... Get as much air into your car, and push it out faster."

Yes and no. Having a modified car there will always be the risk and the chance to getting harassed by the cops. Of course they're going to be alot more aggressive the first day of the program. Getting profiled and pulled over is one thing but getting your plates pulled is another. There's only 2 real ways to go against it, you either keep your car stock or you modify your car within the legal limits, otherwise you gotta deal with the consequences. He was able to pull your plates cause there were things wrong/illegal with your car. You just can't give the cops ammunition against you. Sure they'll give you BS tickets like for the muffler, but those you won't get towed for, and you can fight and win those for what I've heard, but for the most part, ignorance isn't bliss, not a valid excuse, especially not for the cops.
